Explore, Experiment, and Experience
The Summer Camp Program at the Children’s Center is a fun and games outdoor recreation program for young children. The program utilizes the Children’s Center and its large enclosed playground as well as the outdoor resources of the Keystone College campus such as the ball fields, outdoor classrooms and the ponds and creek for observing aquatic life. The nature trails on the Woodlands Campus provide opportunities for hiking and exploring plant and animal life.
The program also includes creative art activities, group games, music and movement, creative dramatics, and a sprinkler for hot days…..lots of fun!
Age: The summer camp program is for children who will turn three by June 1, through children who have not yet entered second grade. Children are grouped according to age.
Times: 9 a.m. - 2 p.m., Monday - Friday; Tuition: $250 per two-week session, per child.
- Session 1: June 15-26, Into the Wild
Children will gain experiences becoming young nature explorers. They will explore the woods, fields, and ponds located on Keystone College’s 165 acres of woodlands, which is part of the 275 acres of college campus. Children will also explore the lives of animals and plants through hikes, activities, stories, and crafts. The camp will utilize multiple resources available on campus to enhance your child’s experiences.
- Session 2: July 6-17, ARTrageous: Create, Paint, Sculpt, Sing, and Dance
Experiencing art in many forms, your child will create musical instruments, improvise with innovative art tools, and utilize a variety of mediums for artistic expression. Paper mache creations, swing painting, mud pie madness, and painting with bikes will be several of the hands-on activities for budding artists. Creative dramatics on the outdoor stage will roundout the two weeks. Enroll and unlock the artist in your child!
- Session 3: July 27-August 8, Discovery
Using all five senses to investigate and explore Keystone’s Woodlands Campus, your child will have opportunities to examine, investigate and discover. Hunting for animal tracks, observing aquatic life, conducting scavenger hunts in the woods and hiking nature trails to discover the mysteries of the forest will be daily camp activities.
For cancellations received 10 days prior to the beginning of the session for which your child is registered, full tuition less a $20 processing fee per child, per session, will be refunded. No refunds will be given after this time. All cancellation requests must be submitted in writing. Refunds will be issued within thirty days after receipt of the cancellation notice.
