The Summer Camp Program at the Children’s Center is a fun and games outdoor recreation program for young children. The program utilizes the Children’s Center and its large enclosed playground as well as the outdoor resources of the Keystone College campus such as the ball fields, outdoor classrooms and the ponds and creek for observing aquatic life. The nature trails on the Woodlands Campus provide opportunities for hiking and exploring plant and animal life.

The program also includes creative art activities, group games, music and movement, creative dramatics, and a sprinkler for hot days…..lots of fun!

Age: The summer camp program is for children who will turn three by June 1, through children who have not yet entered second grade. Children are grouped according to age.

Camp Sessions

You can register your child for one or more sessions. Enrollment is limited to 20 children and accepted on a first-come first-served basis. The Center will provide a healthy mid morning snack. Children must bring a lunch, including beverage.

Session 1:  June 16 - 27, Moving an Grooving: Fun, Fit, and Physical
Advance your child’s gross motor skills, enhance your child’s self-esteem, and build your child’s confidence. Exercise, yoga, dance, and group games will be just a few of the hallmarks of this active two week camp. “Super hero fitness” will be introduced to help your child learn the value of teamwork. Like the Batman and Robin team, gross motor activities will bring out the inner super hero in your child. Running like The Flash, stretching like Plastic Man, and building muscles like Iron Man, your child will move from the indoors to the fun world of fitness.

Session 2:  July 7-18, ARTrageous: Create, Paint, Sculpt, Sing and Dance
Experiencing art in many forms, your child will create musical instruments, improvise with innovative art tools, and utilize a variety of mediums for artistic expression. Paper mache creations, swing painting, mud pie madness, and painting with bikes will be several of the hands-on activities for budding artists. Creative dramatics on the outdoor stage will round out the two weeks. Enroll and unlock the artist in your child!

Session 3:  July 28 - August 8, Discovery Science: Explore, Search, Gather and Connect
Using all five senses to investigate and explore Keystone’s Wilderness Campus, your child will have opportunities to examine, investigate and discover. Hunting for animal tracks, observing aquatic life, conducting scavenger hunts in the woods and hiking nature trails to discover the mysteries of the forest will be daily camp activities.
