Organization: KCEEI

Description:
When rain flows over impervious surfaces, such as paved streets and rooftops, it can overwhelm outdated sewer systems and lead to flooding, sewer backups and pollution of waterways and drinking water. The workshop will challenge participants to look more closely at the infrastructure that surrounds them to see its impact on our waterways; and introduce them to best practices to manage water runoff - from simple solutions such as rain barrels and rain gardens, to the more involved best management practices (BMPs). The session will conclude with demonstration of how rain barrels can be used in homes, businesses or schools. **Each Attendee will receive a rain barrel to take home**
