Alumni Association Scholarship

Alumni Association Scholarship


Established by the Keystone College Alumni Association, scholarships are awarded annually from this fund to eligible traditional and Weekender students. To be eligible, students must have completed a minimum of 18 Keystone credit hours, must currently be registered for at least six credit hours, and have a minimum 3.2 GPA.

Academic excellence demonstrated at Keystone is the primary criteria, in addition to demonstrated leadership in campus clubs, student government organizations and sports, or community activities. The recipient must be related to a Keystone College alumna/alumnus.


Donis '37, Jack Academic Leadership Award

Donis '37, Jack Academic Leadership Award


The Jack Donis '37 Academic Leadership Award was established by alumnus Dr. Jack Donis and is awarded annually to an entering first-year student who is a resident of the Scranton area and plans to be a commuter student.

It is renewable for a student's sophomore year based on the student's demonstrated strong academic standing and leadership activities during the first year.

Fiore, Bonnie Bennett Memorial Scholarship


The Bonnie Bennett Fiore Memorial Scholarship, established by alumnus Gregory Fiore '69 in memory of his wife, is awarded annually to a female student who is active in the school newspaper or yearbook and is in good academic standing.


Friden, Shirley M. '51 Memorial Scholarship

Friden, Shirley M. '51 Memorial Scholarship


Established my J. Frederick Friden ’51 in memory of his wife, this scholarship is annually awarded to a female Business major in good academic standing with financial need.


Hawk, Elmer and Louise Scholarship

Hawk, Elmer and Louise Scholarship


The Elmer and Louise Hawk Scholarship, established by alumnus Elmer Hawk '48 and his wife, Louise, is awarded to children of employees of Gertrude Hawk Chocolates and Gertrude Hawk Chocolate Shops who demonstrate strong academic ability and meet the admissions and financial aid criteria of the College.


Huff '99, Michelle Memorial Scholarship

Huff '99, Michelle Memorial Scholarship


Established by the family of Michelle Huff in her memory, this scholarship is awarded to a second year Criminal Justice major with financial need and a grade point average of at least 3.0.


Kagler Family Endowment Scholarship

Kagler Family Endowment Scholarship


The annual earnings of the Kagler Family Endowment Scholarship fund, established by trustee and alumnus, Robert L. Kagler '57 and his wife Mary Lu '59, are annually awarded to a commuter student who is in good academic standing and demonstrates financial need.

Kostige, Andrew and Mary, Family Endowed Scholarship in Early Childhood Education


Andrew and Mary Kostige Family Endowed Scholarship in Early Childhood Education was given by John V. Kostige, Keystone Junior College, Class of '47, in reverence, tribute and memory of the partnership of his nurturing parents, to a young man who ascribes to the furtherance of these attributes and ideals for freedom.

Established by Maria Pillon Mackay in memory of her father, this scholarship is annually awarded to an Art major in good academic standing with financial need.

Established by Rose Rinaldi in memory of her son, this scholarship is annually awarded to a student who exhibits care and concern for his or her community as so outstandingly demonstrated by William P. Rinaldi.


Schoenbaum, Alex Scholarship

The Alex Schoenbaum Scholarship, established through a grant from the Schoenbaum Family Foundation in memory of Alex Schoenbaum, founder of Shoney's Restaurants U.S.A. Scholarships are awarded annually to culinary arts students.


Traub '48, Naomi H. Scholarship

Traub '48, Naomi H. Scholarship


David Traub '48 established the Naomi H. Traub '48 Scholarship in memory of his wife. This scholarship is annually awarded to a student from the Scranton, Pa. area who demonstrates good academic standing and financial need.


White, Thomas Leadership Award

White, Thomas Leadership Award


Established by Ilene White in memory of her husband, this scholarship is annually awarded to a Senior Weekender student who has at least a 3.2 GPA and displays leadership qualities as exemplified through his or her participation in a Keystone or community organization.
