La Plume, Pa. – For the fifth consecutive year, Keystone College has been included on a national list of Military Friendly Schools, ranking among the top 20 percent of colleges, universities, and trade schools in the nation that are doing the most to recruit and retain students with military experience.

The 2013-2014 list was released recently by G.I. Jobs Magazine, published by Victory Media, a veteran-owned business based in Coraopolis, Pa. The selection of Military Friendly Schools was compiled through extensive research and a data-driven survey during which G.I. Jobs polled over 10,000 Veterans Administration-approved colleges and universities nationwide.

Methodology and criteria were developed with the assistance of a national academic advisory committee consisting of educators from institutions across the nation. The survey tabulation process and methodology were independently verified by Ernst and Young LLP.

Keystone College President Dr. David Coppola said being included on the list for a fifth straight year verifies that Keystone values its veteran students.

“Since its founding in 1868, Keystone College has been especially attentive to providing a quality education to men and women who have served our nation so admirably,” Dr. Coppola said. “That’s why we are honored to again be named to this prestigious list of military friendly schools compiled by G.I. Jobs Magazine.”

“Inclusion on the 2013 list of Military Friendly Schools shows Keystone College’s commitment to providing a supportive environment for military students,” said Sean Collins, director for G.I. Jobs and vice president at Victory Media.

The Military Friendly Schools web site, www.militaryfriendlyschools.com, features the list, interactive tools, and search functions to help military students find schools which best suit their needs.

Founded in 1868 with a commitment to providing education to Civil War veterans and their families, Keystone College is an independent, co-educational, liberal arts college that provides distinctive undergraduate programs grounded in a competitive learning environment that fosters integrity, curiosity, and civility.

Enrolling just under 1,700 students, Keystone offers 32 associate and baccalaureate degree programs in business, communications, education, fine arts, natural science and mathematics, and social sciences.

Located 15 minutes from Scranton, Pa. and two hours from New York City and Philadelphia, Keystone is known for small class sizes and individual attention focused on student success through internships, research, and community involvement.
