Please welcome our new international student, Noelle Brangman from Bermuda!
Keystone is great and I've made a lot of new friends. But, it's too bad they don't have beach parties here!"

Keystone College invites you to study with us as a full-time student working toward an associate or baccalaureate degree. Students enrolled at Keystone can live on campus in modern, comfortable residence halls and enjoy the scenic campus while learning English or working toward their degrees. The International Student Services Office provides information on visa regulations and travel. The Office of Multicultural Affairs provides club activities and cultural events.Keystone's location makes it easily possible to visit nearby cities of the northeastern United States.

Any student whose primary language is not English is required to take the Test of English as a Foreign Language (TOEFL) or a comparable exam. Keystone College requires a 213 on the computer based TOEFL (79-80 on the Internet Based TOEFL) in order to be admitted as a matriculating student. Conditional admission may be granted for students scoring below a 213 (below 80 on the Internet Based TOEFL). These students will be required to participate in the Intensive English Bridge Program during their first semester.

Intensive English Bridge Program

Students who are conditionally accepted by Keystone College take 12 hours/week of ESL plus 6 credits of full-time courses. Keystone ESL Connection is designed to provide language support for students who have not yet achieved a TOEFL score of 550 PBT or 213 on the Computer Based TOEFL (CBT), or 79-80 on the Internet Based TOEFL. The ESL Connection classes will include an advanced academic writing class and an intensive TOEFL preparation course. The full-time classes that Keystone ESL Connection students are permitted to take will be determined by the International Student Advisor on an individual basis. Students who are placed in ESL Connection classes must have a conditional acceptance from the College and a score of at least 500 on the Institutional TOEFL or 173 on CBT or 61 on the Internet Based TOEFL. The institutional TOEFL will be offered at the end of each semester and students will be fully admitted into the college as soon as they achieve a TOEFL score of 550/213/80 or better.

ESL Connection 101 - Advanced Academic Writing/TOEFL Preparation. This course will serve as a pre-English 101 writing class emphasizing appropriate organization and style for a variety of academic writing situations. Emphasis will be on grammar, vocabulary and rhetorical styles. The course will also cover aspects of the TOEFL that will help students become better writers as well as achieve the TOEFL score needed to become full-time Keystone students.

ESL Connection 102 - Academic Success Reading Seminar. This course will use reading as a basis for discussion, debate and individual presentations. Students will increase vocabulary and reading speed in addition to practicing how to interact in U.S. classroom discussion and how to prepare and make presentations.
