Faculty Mentor of the Month for February 2012

Heather Shanks-McElroy, Ph.D., M.S.W., B.Ed. Associate Professor, Division of Education Assistant Professor, Heather Shanks-McElroy was nominated as faculty mentor. She participates as a faculty mentor for many of the students who participate in the Spring Undergraduate Research and Creativity Celebration held every year in April. Heather received a Bachelor of Arts Honours at Queens University in Kingston, Ontario. In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Education and a Masters of Social Work (Gerontology Certification), as well as a Ph.D. in Human Development from Marywood University. Heather has conducted multiple research projects including Principle Investigator for the Professional Skills and Dispositions Rating Form- Plot Study, and for The Ready Freddy Program: Evaluating Outcomes of Parental Participation in a Transition Preparation Curriculum. |
