Event planning is one of the fastest growing occupations and continues to grow. The event planning minor will offer students an in-depth knowledge of the specialized field of event planning. The integrated minor will cover topics such as communications, IT, finance, leadership, marketing, public relations, and recreation.
Students will acquire an understanding of the role and purpose of event planners within various venues and multiple discipline’s and learn the techniques and strategies required to successfully plan various events.
Career Opportunities
Meeting planners have found jobs in the following areas:

- Accommodations including hotels and motels
- Public and private educational services
Courses
A minor consists of a minimum of 18 credits in a particular discipline and requires one 100-level course and two 300- and/or 400-level courses. The remainder may be chosen from current discipline course offerings at any level and are determined by the student and academic advisor.
