The Effects of Asthma on School Performance

Asthma, also known as bronchial asthma, is a common, chronic, inflammatory disease that causes the airways in lungs to tighten. Asthma causes coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath and chest tightness. Many children suffer from asthma; therefore, their school performance may be affected. Children with asthma may have increased school absences. This literature review will discuss the effects that asthma has on school performance.
