Real World Experience
Geology students visit gas production facility
Students from Dr. Bob Cook’s petroleum geology class enjoyed a first-hand look at a gas production facility in Bradford County. The students visited with Southwestern Energy and learned more about the drilling process and also had a chance to visit with Keystone environmental resource management graduate Evan Brandt ’07 who now works for Southwestern Energy.
Costa Rica Field Course
Generally every May, Keystone students have the opportunity to travel abroad on a nine-day field course to study the geology and ecology of Costa Rica. Students who take this faculty-led trip visit active volcanoes, explore boiling mud pools, and take a boat trip around the Santa Elena Peninsula to explore unique rock formation that are found in only a few places on Earth. Get more details about the trip.
Keystone College Geology majors gain experience in the field by completing internships for local business and industries.
