Criminal Justice



The bachelor of science (BS) in criminal justice provides students with an understanding of the problems, procedures, organization, and functions of the criminal justice system. The program  provides students with an understanding of how ethical and moral issues within the criminal justice system affect decisions, policy, and personal relationships.

Students holding a criminal justice degree are prepared for both direct entry in the workplace or for graduate studies. 

Pre-Law Advising Track
Students interested in a legal career can pursue a this track, where advisers encourage students to take the courses that will develop critical thinking and research capabilities, as well as written and oral presentation skills.

The Inside Out Prison Exchange Program
Each spring, as part of CJ 426: Selected Topics in Criminal Justice, eight students are selected are selected to work with eight prisoners from the State Correctional Institute Waymart, to work on a project that they develop and implement together.
