- Diversity Perspective
The goal of the diversity perspective is to develop a critical understanding of the myriad of personal characteristics - inherent and chosen - that differentiate the experience of human beings.
- The course must integrate throughout the course content the examination and analysis of at least three different dimensions of diversity, including but not limited to gender, sexual orientation/identity, socio-economics/class, age, race, ethnicity, ability, language, citizenship status, religion, culture/subculture, urban/rural, and region.
- The course must utilize diverse teaching-learning strategies and assignments.
- The course must evaluate the students’ understanding of the dimensions of diversity as part of the overall course grade.
- The course must have an assessment process that addresses the diversity component.
