- Baseball great Christy Mathewson attended Keystone from 1895-1898, when he excelled on the school's baseball and football teams. Mathewson recorded 373 professional pitching victories, including a National league record 37 wins in 1908. Mathewson was inducted posthumously into the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1936, as part of the charter induction class with Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson, Babe Ruth and Honus Wagner.
- Keystone College is the oldest educational institution in Northeast Pennsylvania.
- Keystone Academy was founded in 1868 by Dr. John Harris. In 1934, the institute became Scranton-Keystone Junior College before changing the name to Keystone Junior College ten years later. In 1998, Keystone received formal approval to offer four-year baccalaureate degrees and officially changed the name to Keystone College.
- The Keystone College Weekender program was established in 1975 for students who wished to pursue an associate or bachelor's degree while maintaining job, family and social responsibilities. Classes are held on six weekends, every second or third weekend, during each four-month trimester.
- Keystone College graduate George Ciccarone (Journalism, Class of 1974), Executive Producer for George Productions, created and produced the highest rated reality documentary in the history of HBO.
- Keystone College has more than 11,000 members in its Alumni Association.
- The 9 ½-inch refracting telescope at the Cupillari Astronomical Observatory was purchased by the college in 1971 from former NBC Today host, David Garroway.
- The 2003-04 Keystone College golf team became the first athletic team in school history to capture a national championship at the USCAA National Championships in Grand Rapids, Mich.
