Health Services FAQ's

When is a Physician Assistant available?
A Physician Assistant is available Monday through Friday 9:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

Who is eligible to receive treatment at Health Services?
Health Services is available to all Keystone students who have submitted a completed health history and immunization record.

What do I do in case of illness while on campus?
Students are encouraged to visit Health Services for care when needed. Students who are ill should contact Health Services for an appointment or to check walk-in availability as soon as possible. The Office of Public Safety, Residence Area Coordinator, or Resident Assistant should be contacted after hours and on weekends.

What if I need to cancel my appointment?
We ask that students please cancel all scheduled appointments with at least 24 hours notice.

What about referrals off campus?
Any student requiring off-campus treatment by a physician, surgeon, dentist, etc. can be referred through Health Services or the student can contact their Resident Area Coordinator or Resident Assistant. Students are responsible for transportation and fees.

Are my medical records kept confidential?
All health records and information is strictly confidential.  Access to medical records is limited to Health Services personnel and will not be released without written consent from the student.

Does Health Services provide medical excuses for missing class?
Health Services does not provide medical excuses for class absence.  Class attendance is an academic matter between faculty and students.

Do I need medical insurance at Keystone College?
Yes, all Keystone College students are required to have medical insurance.  

What vaccinations are required?

  • Meningitis for all resident students.
  • Evidence of Childhood Immunizations:
    Mumps, Measles and Rubella I and II
  • Polio Series
  • Tetanus Booster - within the last 10 years
  • Yearly Tuberculosis Test
