Changing Landscapes: Effects of Marcellus Shale Development on Pennsylvania Forests and Birds

September 11, 2014 -- 7:30PM - 9:30PM

Location: Evans Hall

Dr. Margaret Brittingham is at the forefront of research about the biological impacts of natural gas development in Pennsylvania.  While the economic and water quality impacts have been closely scrutinized, the impact on wildlife is only beginning to be known.  Her research examines the impact energy extraction and development is having on Pennsylvania birds in order to determine community changes and which species benefit and which are most vulnerable.
