Sherman Wooden, The Center for Anti-Slavery Studies

In celebration of Black History Month the Concerts and Lectures Series will welcome Sherman Wooden, president of the Center for Anti-Slavery Studies.

Mr. Wooden has spearheaded research on the African American presence and contribution in Northeastern Pennsylvania, and in particular, the role that the Underground Railroad played in the region. He has uncovered an untold story that is a significant chapter in the history of Pennsylvania and the United States.
